What is Sculptra?
Sculptra is a collagen biostimulator. This compound acts on the skin by restructuring the different layers of tissue for support. Increased dermal and epidermal thickness improves facial contour and decreases the appearance of lines, furrows, and wrinkles.
Why get Sculptra?
Sculptra is an injectable poly-l-lactic acid (PLLA). As we age, the fat, muscles, bones, and skin in our face begins to thin. This loss of volume leads to either a sunken or sagging appearance of the face. Injectable poly-l-lactic acid is used to add structure, framework, and volume to the face. It is known as a bio-stimulatory dermal filler, this means it stimulates your own skin to produce new collagen. Over time, your skin breaks down PLLA into water and carbon dioxide. The effects of PLLA appear gradually over a few months, producing natural results.
Application Process
The procedure is performed through injections. Sculptra is inserted via cannula into specific points of the face and body.
After Application
Once injected, the treated areas will begin to stimulate collagen noticeable within weeks of placement.
